The story

Sixty haunted acres. Hundreds of costumes. One real killer.

When Nate and Big Mike take seasonal jobs at a sprawling 60-acre Halloween attraction, they discover a killer hiding in plain sight among identically costumed performers.

Both men need the money, and Big Mike needs to get off Nate’s couch before Nate’s pregnant fiancée moves in. Their ordinary problems follow them into a place where screams, masks and staged blood give a murderer the perfect cover.

Seven are actors. The eighth is a killer.

The Red Threads wear matching cracked-white masks, black coats, gloves and padded frames, allowing different performers to blend together. One smiling mask carries a distinctive red-thread repair.

  • Big Mike must stop turning responsibility into a joke and show up for Shelly’s children.
  • Their art, music and On the Porch podcast give their friendship a distinctive voice.
  • The characters may be funny. The killer never is.
